COUNTY TAXPAYERS NOTICE
The 2014 tax year begins Wednesday, October 1, 2014, and bills are available online using the link above. Printed bills are on the way and if you do not receive your bill by October 15th please contact the Sheriff’s office at (859) 744-4390.
IF A MORTAGE COMPANY OR NEW HOMEOWNER SHOULD PAY THE RECEIVED BILL, PLEASE FORWARD THE BILL TO THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY IMMEDIATELY.
Collection dates are as follows:

|Face Amount||November 2 thru December 31, 2014
|5% Penalty||January 1 thru January 31, 2015
|10% Penalty plus 10% Add On ||February 1 thru April 15, 2015
All delinquent tax bills will be transferred to the Clark County Court Clerk's Office as of the close of business on April 15, 2015. After April 15, 2015 contact the County Clerk's Office for payment. In addition to the penalties and fees that are applied by the Sheriff's Office, all payments made in the County Clerk's Office are subject to a 20% County Attorney's fee, a 10% County Clerk's fee and interest at 1% per month. The delinquency is also subject to being sold to a Third Party in the summer of 2015.
The Sheriff’s office is located in the lower level of the Governor James Clark Judicial Building. The office will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This office honors USPS postmark (not private meters) on all payments received via U.S. mail and payments received in the drop box off Broadway. This box is located in front of the Sheriff's Office and is checked daily.
The last day to receive a 2% discount is November 1, 2014. The last day to pay at face amount is December 31, 2014. The Clark County Sheriff’s office will be closed on the following dates:

Acceptable forms of payment include: Personal check, certified check, money order, and cash. Please note, if your check to pay tax bill(s), is returned by the bank for ANY reason, your tax bill(s) will be marked unpaid and an automatic charge of $50.00 will be added to your bill. Your bill will then be collectible and subject to any other fees based on the current collection period. If a return occurs we will only accept cash, money order or certified check.
When making payment using the drop box or mail, please do not use cash. Identify the bill(s) you are paying by the bill number, map number or property address. If possible please include a telephone number where you can be reached during business hours. The mailing address is Clark County Sheriff, 17 Cleveland Avenue, Winchester, KY 40391. If you wish a paid receipt returned to you, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
